pH Drift

Gradual pH change over time

Symptoms

pH gradually moves away from the target over days or weeks.
Fish behaviour changes subtly; breeding may stall.
Direction depends on water: drift down in soft/low-KH water, up with alkaline materials.

Do not chase pH with daily additives — stability matters more than a target number.
Do not dismiss long-term drift — chronic change stresses fish even without a crash.
