Betta imbellis
The Peaceful Betta — a wild-type betta with iridescent green and blue coloration. Unlike Betta splendens, males are generally peaceful with each other. Hardy and beautiful.
Pairs or solitarily.
Salvinia
A small floating fern with distinctive cup-shaped leaves. Fast-growing and excellent for nutrient吸收 in shrimp tanks. Does not reproduce as aggressively as duckweed.
Blyxa japonica
Care profile for Blyxa japonica: medium-high light, medium CO₂, intermediate difficulty.
Alternanthera reineckii
Care profile for Alternanthera reineckii: medium-high light, medium CO₂, intermediate difficulty.
Dwarf Lettuce
A floating rosette plant resembling small lettuce heads. Provides shade, absorbs excess nutrients, and offers cover for fry. Roots provide habitat for microorganisms.
Rotala rotundifolia
Care profile for Rotala rotundifolia: medium-high light, medium CO₂, intermediate difficulty.
Babaulti Shrimp
A small, colorful freshwater shrimp available in green, brown, and striped morphs. Hardy and easy to breed, making them excellent additions to planted community tanks.
Zebra Nerite Snail
A striped, hard-working algae grazer that never overpopulates: its eggs are laid all over the glass but only hatch in brackish water, so they simply stay put. Prefers harder water (GH 6-20 dGH) with calcium for a healthy shell; watch for escapes, as it can climb out of open tanks.
Blue Bolt Shrimp
A striking blue color morph of Caridina cantonensis. Deep blue body with white banding. Extremely sensitive to water parameters — requires very soft, acidic water.
Amano Shrimp
The classic algae-eating workhorse shrimp, unmatched for clearing hair algae from planted tanks. Hardy at 3-15 dGH, but never breeds in freshwater: its larvae need brackish water, so all reports of 'Amano babies' in freshwater tanks are actually other shrimp species.
White Spot Disease (Ich)
Tiny white salt-like grains on the body and fins of fish.
fishFilter Crash
The biological filter fails after aggressive cleaning, media replacement or a long outage.
equipmentCloudy Water
Milky or hazy water that never fully clears.
waterFin Rot
Fins look frayed, ragged or are visibly shrinking with white or red edges.
fishOld Tank Syndrome
Water quality slowly worsens over months or years despite regular small water changes.
